hello, i'm studying your painting and I want to know why did you choose to do an oil painting?, why using children and sibling? why using anonyma of those children? thank you for answering me
Sandra Nardone replied:
I am an oil painter! These children were photographed on Ellis Island in the early 1900s and as part of my project to promote awareness of immigration, I choose them to paint. Many children came alone to a strange country and language, and I am so awed by their bravery. Thank you for your interest.
