Artist's Statement

I have created art for as long as I can remember. My mother says when I was four years old I
made my own "earrings" by drawing and coloring flowers, cutting them out, and stringing them on bobby pins!

As a stay-at-home mom, I raised three children while running a small business making dollhouse dolls in period costumes. The dolls were sold on Fifth Avenue in New York and were featured in several books. When my children were grown, I decided to join the work force.

For 25 years I was an award-winning graphic artist/designer for several large corporations and also worked freelance and performed contract work. My work satisfied my creative needs, and it wasn't until I retired eight years ago that I decided to devote myself to painting full time. Studying under several artists whose work I admire, I began to form my own "style" and to hone my techniques.
I work in oil paints and prefer painting on panels. My style is representational, with some aspects of impressionism. I love to paint portraits, landscapes, florals, and still life.
